Oh, man!!
See what happens when you dawdle??
My consolation stroller the Baby Planet Solo Sport regular in Crimson is now $35 more than what I was going to buy it for! All that agonizing and almost deciding to do it...! Okay, well, maybe it's still $100 somewhere else; back to the shopping. Grrr. Crankypants.
Unfortunately, there has been no commensurate drop in the Deluxe model. [Sigh]
*Edit:
Well, I did find the Solo Sport regular in Crimson for $100 + $8 shipping somewhere else-- AND I found the Deluxe for $10 less than at Amazon w/ free ship (despite which, it still is not really in my budget). I really want that damn Deluxe, obviously. Why am I so fixated on it?
Probably has something to do with this review. Bastards.

One more stroller consideration...
I might be able to convince myself to go with the previous generation of the Baby Planet Solo Sport (not Deluxe). It's not Bengals colors-- just red, blue or gray with black (I like the red), and it doesn't have telescoping handles or a napper bar (what kind of dumb name is that anyway? I thought it meant it was supposed to have, I don't know, something to do with napping?) which is a bar across the front of the spawn. Parents laud the "hang toys off" it thing-- but Monkey doesn't play with toys while we're out. He just likes to look at stuff. I can buy a tray easily to fit on there for food (it comes with cupholder), or if the right width, use the tray off our biggie stroller.
The Solo Sport is not the most improved version (which may not make a difference-- you can't really know without trying it out, or hearing people's experiences)-- but lots of times the non-hoochie-mama version is also made with a little bit subpar materials to save on cost. Difficult to know without having both at hand.
A huge selling point is that it's on big sale ($70 off) and that means it's 130% savings vs. the Deluxe: "the price break" and then some. That might be enough for me-- as long as the handles' height doesn't suck. If I order it now, I can try it out and send it back if they do suck, and we can still get the Deluxe (or other model) before the mid-December Yule caca trip.
The convincing is slowly working... shower now or the baby will be up!

Strollers are making me nuts...
... more nuts, rather.
Now I'm looking WAY outside my budget range b/c I don't want to buy something cheap that I end up hating. We can't really get to a bricks & mortar to test-drive any of these, and we have to get something before the middle of December.
Now I want a Baby Planet Solo Sport Deluxe. Can you believe they are charging $70 more bucks for the black/orange rather than the brown/pink? It's a green company though... and Redbeard would *love* the black/orange-- "Bengals colors"! Of course, he won't love the price tag (eek!).
I have some money in my PayPal account that can make up some of the cost-- but it would be a significant investment right when we are going to be needing to conserve money. Of course, the truth is that I/we have birthday money that I would gladly spend to get this stroller if we hadn't been in a lurch last month and had to transfer money from our emaciated savings.
Hmm-- is this one of those situations where I say "I'm doing this, because I never do anything for me"? I think it just might be. In fact, this is actually a combination benefit for all of us-- and I think Finn will love it. More importantly, if I buy it off of Amazon, and it doesn't perform, I can send it back.
How's that for convincing? I think when we "get paid" from this Hunting Week caca, Mama's making a purchase! If I don't talk myself out of it before then...

Oh, Baby Bunting, Daddy's Gone A-Hunting...
Monkey's in bed and I've got all the go-to-bed-stuff done, but to shut down the damper a little more on the stove, and then it's off to bed with a little Shrek 2 for me. When you can't have your Redbeard, Shrek ain't such a bad bedfellow. He has that lilting Scottish thing workin'.
Oh, who am I kidding? I know I'll stay up blogging and playing Poseidon for another 3-4 hours anyway, and if Redbeard isn't home by then, well, then Shrek it is!
I'm also doing consumer research (one of my things) on umbrella strollers for the Yule trip. I'm looking at buying one that has a set list of features, which I am willing to pay for, but it has to be within my budget-- meaning I'm not buying a Bugaboo, Peg Perego or Maclaren. Right now, Mia Moda and Combi have my attention. I'm vacillating...
Okay, now I'm looking at Baby Planet and Esprit. Ai-- who knew it was such a big world of strollers...?
